St.Rumwolds church, Bonnington, Kent. Born in 662AD St.Rumwold ( The Child Saint ) was able to speak from birth, after declaring " I am a Christian", he delivered his first sermon at just 2 days old in fluent Latin, he died at just 3 days old. The church here at Bonnington is probably the oldest on the Romney Marsh being a mix of Saxon / Norman Architecture. A church on this site was mentioned as early as AD796 in a charter granted by King Offa of Mercia to the Archbishop of Canterbury. Photography © Jeremy Sage
