Pest House

Description

Built in the late 15th century this tiny timber-framed building is in the south-west corner of the churchyard of Church of Saint Mary in the parish of Great Chart in Kent . The exact original use of this small building is not known. It is known locally as The Pest House but was probably built as a chantry priest’s house and not, as its current name suggests, a ‘pest house’.
